In my previous review, I tested the MiHIGH sauna blanket, a product that claims to offer an affordable at-home sauna experience. While I found it to be effective and enjoyable, I also thought that $500 was a bit steep for a heated cocoon. I decided to look for a cheaper alternative that still delivers the benefits of a sauna, hence this LifePro sauna blanket review.
From this review, you will be able to compare the two brands and decide which one suits your needs and budget better.
LifePro Infrared Sauna Blanket Overview
Price and Features
Let’s start with the price, as we did last time. The LifePro sauna blanket is much more affordable than the MiHIGH, costing only $180. You might expect that such a big price difference would mean a lot of compromises on the features, but surprisingly, the LifePro is still quite competitive with the MiHIGH. It also has a wide temperature range, a timer, and good-quality material. However, there is one important drawback: this sauna blanket is not low EMF.
As we explained in our previous blog, low EMF means that the device emits less radiation, which makes it safer and more beneficial for your health. A device that is not low EMF emits more radiation than normal, which can affect your brain and heart cells with calcium ions. This can lead to various health issues like headaches, depression, and anxiety. So, if you are concerned about the potential risks of EMF exposure, you might want to think twice before choosing this sauna blanket.
First Impression
Let’s move on to the unboxing part. As soon as I received my package, I noticed a significant difference: the box was much heavier than the MiHIGH’s. The contents were similar, though a long power cord, a blanket, and some accessories.
The blanket itself did not have a very distinctive design. It was made of PE leather with a white LifePro logo on both ends. However, it was not only heavier but also bigger than the MiHIGH. It measured 76 inches in length when unfolded, which was 5 inches longer than the MiHIGH. This might not sound like a lot, but it could make a big difference for taller people who want to fit comfortably inside the blanket.
LifePro Sauna Experience
Getting into the LifePro
The setup process for this sauna blanket was very similar to the MiHIGH, and I assume that’s the case for most sauna blankets. All I had to do was plug it in, put on some clothes, zip myself up, and I was good to go. The blanket had nine temperature settings, ranging from 113 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. I started from the lowest setting and gradually increased the heat. To my surprise, it took only about 5-10 minutes to warm up, which was quite fast. Maybe it had something to do with the lack of low EMF, but I also noticed that I started sweating much sooner than when I used the MiHIGH.
I completed my session after 30 minutes, and by then I was already used to the feeling of being soaked in my clothes, so it didn’t bother me as much as the first time I tried a sauna blanket.
After I finished my session, I waited for a while before cleaning the blanket. As expected, there were some water puddles inside it, so you should be careful not to spill them.
How does it feel?
To be honest, I didn’t feel much of a difference between this sauna blanket and the others. After one session, I felt very relaxed, which helped me with my back pain problem. Maybe I just enjoy the sauna, or maybe all sauna blankets provide the same experience. I can’t really tell, since I only had time to use each one a few times, so I don’t know the long-term effects yet.
However, the EMF issue really worries me, because the safe threshold for EMF level is 2.5mG, and anything above that is considered hazardous. Since I don’t have a way to measure the EMF level of the LifePro blanket, I decided to search online to see if any of their customers have reported any negative effects.
What Do Customers Say?
The only source of LifePro customer reviews I could find was their Amazon page, which had a high rating of 4.6/5 stars from 3000 ratings.
Positive reviews
Most of the positive reviews praised the product for being easy to use and liked the armholes that allowed them to multitask. For example, one customer wrote:
It’s easy to unfold for use. The long zippers on each side make getting in and out of it easy. The upper body doesn’t seem to heat as well as the lower body does. I started with lowest heat setting but soon moved to a high setting. I’ve only used it 4 times and need to find time to use more often.

I am quite satisfied with my sauna blanket. I set it up on my floor, put my Mylar cover inside, slide into my sauna blanket and sweat for an hour. It is VERY convenient and effective. I am very happy with my purchase and would encourage others to buy one.
A customer said:
I just received this today and used it tonight. Let me tell you, you will sweat, buckets. Heats up quick. Beeps when your time is done. Clean up is super easy and it cools down really fast. The arm holes are great for reading while you enjoy.
Negative reviews
Most negative reviews complained about the durability of the product as well as its quality. For instance, one customer said:
I have ordered 4 of these. For myself and gifts . Two have come and the top does not heat up at all. Doesn’t work. The first I sent back and received an exchange. The second I’m outside of the window to get an exchange because it was literally just opened yesterday as it was a gift and it doesn’t work. If you order one of these good chance it won’t work

Anyone else burn their skin using this? I just used for the first time, felt the great effects of infrared sauna in the comfort of my home but not sure if it’s worth it, have burned streaks down my back wearing a T-shirt and wasn’t even on the highest setting? Only stayed in for 30 min. Also controller was too hot to touch. Wanted to share this with my family, parents who are in the process of moving and have achy muscles but I’m afraid to let anyone use it now.
From what I have read, it seems that the LifePro sauna blanket is a good budget option that delivers what it promises. But these reviews are quite recent, so we still don’t have the answer to the long-term effect of the lack of low EMF that we were looking for.
Is LifePro Sauna Blanket Worth It?
Having a cheap sauna blanket that does the job at a similar level to those at higher price points is amazing, I know, but you should also consider what you are missing out on. And in this case, it is the low EMF feature. Although there is no clear evidence that using the LifePro will harm your health, I wouldn’t advise using it for long periods of time.
So, the final answer to this question is: if you are looking for an entry-level product to test out the portable sauna experience before investing in a more serious one, then the LifePro is definitely worth the price for what it offers. But if you are looking for long-term health benefits, then I think paying an extra few hundred bucks will benefit you much more.
